Since Envato has deprecated the API key you will have to use a token to update the plugin. Please use the following guide if you cannot update the plugin.
NOTE: If you have followed the process below and you are still getting an Envato API error when trying to update while having a version lower than 5.0.12 you will have to do a manual update. Envato has changed one of its return values when checking the token so the previous code cannot function properly. For this time you will have to do a manual update since the fix is incorporated to the latest version.
A) TOKEN CREATION
1. Make sure you are logged in to your Envato account
2. Click this link
3, Make sure that the following permissions are enabled:
- Download the user’s purchased items
- List purchases the user has made
4. Create your token and write it down.
B) MANUAL UPDATE
This step is needed if your current installed version is lower than 4.9x
This step is also needed as of 03/06/2020 if you have a version installed that is lower than 5.0.12.
4. Download the latest version from codecanyon.
5. Delete your current plugin form the plugins page
6. Install the new version and activate it.
C) FINAL STEP
7. Go to the plugin settings->License tab->Envato API Personal Token and paste the token. This setting should have your old api key if you activated the plugin before.
8. If the plugin is already activated just press save change now. If it isn’t activated activated again
If you still cannot update then install the Envato Market plugin from https://envato.com/market-plugin/ and update from there.
If you still cannot update then your server is blocking the Envato server
